At 11.47am on Wednesday, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Aberystwyth Fire Station attended an incident on Prospect Street in Aberystwyth.
Crew members responded to a road traffic collision where one private motor vehicle had collided with parked vehicles. The vehicle’s one casualty was medically trapped and crew members utilised small gear to gain access into the vehicle to assist the on-scene paramedics to extricate the casualty. The Wales Air Ambulance was also in attendance, however the casualty was eventually conveyed to hospital by road ambulance.
This incident demonstrated successful multi-agency working to resolve an emergency situation, with the Ambulance Service, Dyfed-Powys Police and Air Ambulance also in attendance.
