Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service covers almost two-thirds of Wales, covering a predominantly rural area of 4,500 square miles, comprising 58 stations and employing around 1,300 staff.  It is the third largest in the United Kingdom, behind the Scottish and Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Services.  

Mid and West Wales is home to a diverse and multicultural population of over 930,000 people across more than 430,000 households, covering six local authority areas: Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys, and the City and County of Swansea.





Safe Havens

Our Fire Stations are designated 'Safe Havens', where any member of the public – including children and young people – can go if they feel unsafe in any situation.
