At 11.38am on Thursday, August 21st, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Llanelli, Gorseinon, Morriston and Port Talbot Fire Stations were called to an incident at Brohawddgar in Llanelli.
Six fire engines, including one water bowser and one turntable aerial appliance, responded to the scene.
Crews responded to a fire in the roof space of a semi-detached domestic property, which spread to the adjoining property. Crews utilised four breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets and one main jet to extinguish the fire. Crews were also involved in isolating the gas and electricity supplies of both properties.
Both properties have suffered significant damage. All persons and animals were accounted for.
After extinguishing the fire, Firefighters visited neighbouring properties to deliver home fire safety guidance and advice. The properties’ occupants will be supported by British Red Cross volunteers as part of a partnership to offer emotional and practical support to people affected by emergencies.
Crews left the scene at 2.46pm.
