On Thursday, 5 March, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service held its first Female Experience Day of the year for those interested in pursuing a career in the Fire Service.
Held at Earlswood Training Centre, the event gave attendees the opportunity to learn more about the wide range of roles within the Service and gain insight into the Firefighter recruitment process.
Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of sessions including discussions on career pathways, Firefighter fitness requirements and the role of support staff.
Attendees also took part in practical exercises such as ladder drills and equipment handling activities, giving them first-hand insight into the physical requirements of the role.
The session is part of a wider programme of Experience Days taking place across the Service area, aimed at encouraging more people to consider a career in the Fire and Rescue Service.
