Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s (MAWWFRS) Ceremonial Colour Party attended the Haverfordwest Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade on Sunday, November 9th.
The annual parade through the town centre brings together veterans, serving personnel, cadets and more, as well as hundreds of spectators to honour those who died in conflict.
During the Remembrance Sunday Service, poppy wreaths were laid at the County War Memorial, led by the Mayor of Haverfordwest joined by representatives from local schools, community organisations, and uniformed groups. The service was supported by members of the Royal British Legion and local clergy, who led prayers and readings of remembrance.
The Colour Party
The Colour Party comprises current and retired personnel who represent the Service at a range of events throughout the calendar year. Colour Party members wear ceremonial uniform and proudly carry both the Nation standard and the MAWWFRS standard.
The Colour Party was established as part of Dyfed Fire Brigade in 1984, with the Fire Engine Rally at Withybush Airfield the first event attended by the group. Over the years, the Colour Party has attended a range of events including funerals of past and serving colleagues, formal medal ceremonies, remembrance services, carol concerts and weddings.
