The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority has published its Community Risk Management Plan 2040.
Chief Fire Officer, Roger Thomas said:
“Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority has published its new Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) 2040, which is designed to help achieve our vision, to deliver the best possible service for the communities of mid and west Wales. To assist us in delivering our vision, we have reviewed the risks, threats and challenges within our communities and have developed a long-term plan, taking us through to 2040, which we are confident will help us to understand, manage and reduce these risks, keeping the communities of mid and west Wales as safe as possible. “Recognising the ever-changing needs of our communities, our long-term plan will remain flexible, enabling us to adapt to societal, environmental, and economic changes, futureproofing the services we provide, by having the right people in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills and equipment to deliver the best possible service to the communities we serve.”
Councillor Gwynfor Thomas, Chair of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Authority said:
“We are committed to investing in our people and making the best use of our assets and resources, ensuring our staff are fully equipped to deal with emergencies and better protect themselves and the communities they serve. “We are confident that the eight objectives we have identified in our CRMP will enable us to continue to evolve and deliver an effective, efficient, and world-class service, keeping you and your families safe. We remain committed to adapting to any challenges faced positively and believe that collaborative working is key to the future of our emergency services to successfully deliver shared outcomes, enabling us to improve the way we work, share resources, and ultimately save more lives. We also remain committed to finding innovative solutions to improve the way we work, enhance firefighter safety, reduce our impact on the environment and ultimately contribute to the well-being of our communities.”
A comprehensive consultation and engagement exercise was undertaken to help develop the CRMP and the Authority would like to thank everyone who took the time to provide them with their valued feedback.
The responses were considered fully, and each Improvement and Well-being Objective was reviewed and amended accordingly to reflect the feedback received. Further information on our consultation can be found in our consultation report.
