On Friday, 20th June, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) welcomed the High Sheriff of West Glamorgan Diana Stroia, High Sheriff of Dyfed Ann Jones DL and High Sheriff of Powys Sally Roberts for an annual visit to Service Headquarters and Carmarthen Fire Station.
All three High Sheriffs are newly sworn and were eager to learn more about how the Service works and the support we provide to the communities we serve.
They initially met with our Chief Fire Officer KFSM Roger Thomas who introduced them to our Executive Leadership Team, where they discussed our Emergency Response, Prevention and Protection work and our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP 2040).
Followed by a tour of Carmarthen Fire Station, where they had the opportunity to meet representatives from our Community Safety team who provided an overview of the work they do to keep our communities safe.
To round off the afternoon, the crew from Carmarthen Fire Station provided an overview of the specialist kit and equipment carried on our frontline appliances.
We would like to thank all three High Sheriffs for taking time to come visit us and we look forward to seeing them again in the future.
