At 8.12pm on Thursday, July 3rd, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Llandeilo, Ammanford and Tumble Fire Stations were called to an incident at Ffairfach in Llandeilo.
Crews responded to a fire involving one agricultural vehicle and one small barn used to store hay. Crews extinguished the fire using one breathing apparatus set, two hose reel jets, respirators and small gear. The property owner assisted crews using a mini digger to spread the hay from the barn to dampen it down.
The vehicle was destroyed by the fire and the barn was significantly damaged, heat damage was caused to adjacent stables. The crews left the scene at 10.53pm.

A large proportion of Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s (MAWWFRS) 12,000 square kilometre Service Area is home to a tapestry of rural and agricultural communities, with many of our Fire Stations based within these villages and towns.
To best protect these communities, we are proud to draw upon the invaluable resource of our On-Call Firefighters, many of whom are primarily employed within the agriculture sector.
Acknowledging the rich farming heritage of Mid and West Wales, MAWWFRS has a Farm Liaison Service that works with farmers to best protect their property and livestock from the threat of fire.
