At 1.38am on Friday, September 5th, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Pont-iets and Llanelli Fire Stations were called to an incident at Heol Carway in Carway.

Crews responded to a fire confined to a porch at the front of a domestic property.  Crews utilised one hose reel jet, two thermal imaging cameras and one positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.  Crews were also involved in exposing burnt areas to check for any remaining hot spots and of any fire spread.  Crews left the scene at 2.56am.

Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives

The property’s occupants were alerted of the fire by smoke alarms in the property, after smoke had travelled inside the property.  The family were able to leave the property quickly and safely before calling 999.
