Today we celebrate Lester James who has been presented with the NFCC Donna Crossman Award and Wayne Bream who has been awarded a NFCC Certificate for being a Fire Cadet Volunteer.
The NFCC Prevention Awards which recognises and celebrates the achievements of prevention activity in fire and rescue services across the UK.

Lester was an Operational Firefighter for over 20 years and has been in his current role as a Youth Worker for over 15 years.
He is part of a team which aims to teach resilience-building techniques such as mindfulness, emotional literacy, and problem-solving. They are also able to signpost young people to allow them to gain the support they may need.
Wayne Bream was also nominated for and received a certificate for NFCC Prevention Awards 2024 for the category, Volunteering Recognition.
The time and knowledge Wayne has committed, whether at cadet evenings, station open days, community events, UK Fire Cadet Games, and particularly with supporting cadets recently at the Cenotaph, London, is invaluable.
Wayne’s dedication and hard work have greatly benefited cadets, the Service, and the communities we serve, and we are truly grateful for his generosity in sharing his skills and time with us.
