On Wednesday, 20th November 2024 Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) hosted a ‘Targeting Prevention’ event on behalf of Swansea Public Services Board (PSB) at Swansea.com Stadium.

The event featured eight presentations with guest speakers and workshops that allowed participants to discuss a range of prevention topics such as Sharing Personal Information, Maximising Impact through Partnerships and referral pathways, Safeguarding vulnerable people and much more. The event provided the perfect opportunity for our partner agencies to discuss and promote best practice on how to keep our communities safe.

Chief Fire Officer, Roger Thomas KFSM said:

“The Targeting Prevention event was a huge success. Initial feedback received from delegates highlighted that they found the presentations and workshops both stimulating and beneficial in terms of developing inter-agency networks and learning more about how partners deliver their services. There was clearly a ‘buzz’ in the room and that was down to the engagement and interaction with those who attended – thank you all.”

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is proud to collaborate with our partners in creating safer communities through events like these. By encouraging open dialogue, sharing expertise, and strengthening partnerships, we can continue to make a real difference to the communities we serve. We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the day’s success and look forward to building on this momentum at next year’s event.
