The dangers of jumping into water
- Never jump into water without knowing its depth. The depth can change with waves or tides.
- Beware of underwater obstacles.
- Beware of fast-moving water.
- Beware of cold-water shock. All waters, inland and coastal around the UK are cold enough to induce cold-water shock.
- Keep away from uneven banks and loose edges.
- Don’t jump near boats or where there is boat traffic.
