On Wednesday, 13th May, the Southern Division Business Fire Safety (BFS) team from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) held a Care Home Fire Safety Engagement event in the Towers Hotel and Spa, Swansea.

The event, aimed at strengthening collaborative working with the care home sector across Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot provided a valuable chance to reconnect, strengthen relationships, and openly discuss what’s working well, as well as the challenges being faced.

This was the first of many ‘Connect For’ sessions planned for the Southern Division, helping to build a joined-up approach to working together and sharing knowledge.

During the session, colleagues delivered several presentations including the fire safety audit process and what providers can expect, vulnerable adults safeguarding awareness and the importance of ongoing communication / partnership working, finishing with an opportunity for attendees to ask technical questions.

Special thanks goes to all the speakers and the Towers Hotel and Spa for providing an excellent venue. The event was a great success, with positive feedback from attendees.

Overall, the focus remains simple – to keep the momentum going and turn discussions into meaningful action.

Neil Stephens SMA Fire Safety Manager and the Southern BFS team would like to extend their thanks to everyone who attended.
