Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) attended this year’s Eisteddfod which took place in, Llantwd, Pembrokeshire from 1st – 8th August.

This year’s Eisteddfod took place in the area known as ‘y Garreg Las’, named after the striking local bluestone. The catchment area stretches across three stunning regions: Pembrokeshire, south Ceredigion, and west Carmarthenshire.

Our Community Safety Team had a stand in the perfect location, offering members of the public free safety advice and information as well as the opportunity to sign up for a free Safe & Well check.

There was plenty of activities for children to take part in, including Sbarc colouring sheets, a chance to try on a firefighter’s kit, as well as an opportunity to take part in our ‘Lithium-Ion battery Safety’ competition!

Sbarc, the lovable Service mascot also made appearances throughout the week, providing a fantastic photo opportunity!

It was a fantastic week with a buzzing atmosphere from start to finish!

We would like to say a big thank you to all that got involved, especially those who stopped by the MAWWFRS stand.
