From 1st – 5th June, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s (MAWWFRS) Incident Command Team (ICS) successfully delivered an Incident Command Level 1 Course at Port Talbot Fire Station, with six candidates completing the intensive five-day programme.

The course is designed to develop knowledge of Incident Command, leadership, and JESIP principles, equipping participants with the skills required to manage operational incidents as Level 1 Commanders. As part of the programme, candidates were assessed using the XVR simulation system, along with a two-day practical assessment involving live scenarios.

All candidates performed to a high standard, passing their assessments with excellent results and demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and technical competence throughout the course.

The ICS Team would like to congratulate the candidates on their achievements and wish them every success as they continue their professional development.
