At 9.10am on Monday, January 13th, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Welshpool, Llanfair Caereinion, Montgomery, Llanfyllin and Newtown Fire Stations, supported by crews from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, were called to an incident on Berriew Street in Welshpool.
Crews responded to a fire within a flat on the second floor of a three-storey building containing commercial and domestic properties. Crews utilised eight breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets, one 45mm jet and ladders to extinguish the fire.
All residents were accounted for and one casualty received medical treatment at the scene. Dyfed-Powys Police was also in attendance and the road was closed while the incident was ongoing. Crews left the scene at 12.36pm.
