About Us

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing public safety information, prevention and protection programmes, and emergency response cover for mid and west Wales.

We employ over 1,350 members of staff and cover almost 12,000 square kilometers - almost two-thirds of Wales.

As a Service, we work closely with our community and partners to make mid and west Wales a safer place to live, work and visit. In conjunction with the work we do with young people, visiting schools and carrying out Safe and Well visits we are also responsible for enforcing fire safety legislations.
